The Benefits of Metal Fencing

Welcome to my blog, my name is Dave. When I moved into my new home, I didn't realise what a problem the local wildlife was going to be. I was used to living in the city, so my experience of wildlife extended to stray cats and dogs. However, when I moved out into the country, I suddenly discovered that kangaroos, wild dogs and foxes can cause all kinds of mayhem in your garden. I was complaining about this in the local pub when someone suggested I install a metal fence. I contacted a fencing company and they inspected my home before fitting a high metal fence. Since installing the fence, I haven't had any trouble with wild animals. I decided to start this blog to explain the benefits of fencing to others.

What's Behind the High Demand for Chain Link Fencing in Australia?

Chain link or wire-mesh fencing is a common feature in many residential, commercial and industrial areas across Australia due to the many perks it has to offer. If you intend to erect chain link fencing around your residential property, you should first familiarise yourself with the benefits you stand to gain.

Those who have installed chain link fencing around their properties enjoy the following benefits over the lifespan of the fencing.

Chain link fencing offers great wind resistance

Have you ever wondered why the use of chain link fencing is so common in hurricane-prone areas? Chain link fencing is a popular choice in these areas because it offers tremendous resistance against strong wind. Where a wood or vinyl fence would be easily pulled down by the force of the wind, a chain link fence will remain steadfast. As the interwoven wire design of the fencing allows the wind to pass through unobstructed, the wind won't leave your fencing a wreck. When used together with steel fencing posts, chain link fencing can withstand even the strongest of hurricanes.

Chain link fencing is highly durable

For longevity's sake, every fence needs to be made from materials that can hold out against the elements. The interwoven steel wire from which chain link fencing is made is galvanised or plastic-coated to protect the metal from weather-induced corrosion or rust. Hence, property owners do not have to worry about their fencing wearing down quickly because of harsh weather conditions. Better still, chain link fencing won't rot, warp or be eaten by wood-loving insects like wood.

Chain link fencing is fire-resistant

Chain link fencing is a perfect choice for those living in areas where wildfires are common. In case the fire reaches the perimeter of your property, your chain link fence won't fuel the fire. This is because steel wire is an excellent fire-resistant material that won't burn even under extreme temperatures.

Chain link fencing is transparent

For those who would love to have a view of the outside or brighten up their yards with natural light, chain link fencing is a great option. The interwoven wire design of the fencing lets sunshine to easily penetrate into your outdoor space, and also ensure your view of the outside is not obstructed as is often the case with a wood or vinyl fence.
