The Benefits of Metal Fencing

Welcome to my blog, my name is Dave. When I moved into my new home, I didn't realise what a problem the local wildlife was going to be. I was used to living in the city, so my experience of wildlife extended to stray cats and dogs. However, when I moved out into the country, I suddenly discovered that kangaroos, wild dogs and foxes can cause all kinds of mayhem in your garden. I was complaining about this in the local pub when someone suggested I install a metal fence. I contacted a fencing company and they inspected my home before fitting a high metal fence. Since installing the fence, I haven't had any trouble with wild animals. I decided to start this blog to explain the benefits of fencing to others.

Why You Should Choose Aluminium Fencing for Your Garden

When the time comes to replace your fence, you'll certainly have lots of options to choose from. One material that not everyone considers is aluminium. In addition to being versatile, it's long-lasting and easy to shape. If you're still unsure, here are some reasons to choose aluminium fencing for your garden.

Wrought Iron Aesthetic Without Rust

Many people crave adding a wrought iron aesthetic to their garden. However, iron is prone to rust, which means you may spend a lot of time treating or replacing it. In contrast, aluminium is a material that does not rust. Alongside removing the need for too much upkeep, this is also a great way to keep pets and young children safe. It can also make your property a more attractive prospect to buyers, as they may not relish the idea of having to periodically battle with rust.

No Need to Frequently Repaint It

Paint doesn't adhere to iron or wood fences as well as it adheres to aluminium. Iron and wood fences can require repainting as often as every two to three years. This means increased upkeep costs over time, plus you may struggle to find the paint you want each time a repainting session comes around. With an aluminium fence installation, you'll usually benefit from powder colouring and this can eliminate the need to paint it all together.

Enhanced Security for Your Property

When it comes to choosing aluminium versus wood, going for the former means you're making a more secure choice. It's difficult to break through, making it ideal if you're determined to maximise security at your property. If you build it high, it's also difficult to scale. You can also curve the top of the fence and shape the edges so that it's extra difficult to penetrate.

Fewer Replacements Over Time

While wrought iron and wooden fences may last for a decade or so, aluminium can last for several decades. In part, this is because the material is so durable and less prone to rusting. Its makeup means it won't succumb to the effects of weather or living by the coast in the same way that another material will. If you see your next fence as a forever installation, focusing on aluminium is a great way to free yourself from periodic replacements.

When you choose an aluminium fence installation, you're opting for greater security and less upkeep. At the same time, you'll enjoy all the aesthetic benefits that come with other materials.
