The Benefits of Metal Fencing

Welcome to my blog, my name is Dave. When I moved into my new home, I didn't realise what a problem the local wildlife was going to be. I was used to living in the city, so my experience of wildlife extended to stray cats and dogs. However, when I moved out into the country, I suddenly discovered that kangaroos, wild dogs and foxes can cause all kinds of mayhem in your garden. I was complaining about this in the local pub when someone suggested I install a metal fence. I contacted a fencing company and they inspected my home before fitting a high metal fence. Since installing the fence, I haven't had any trouble with wild animals. I decided to start this blog to explain the benefits of fencing to others.

Answering Some Commonly Asked Questions About Glass Fencing for Your Yard

Glass fencing is a great choice for any home, especially if you don't want your fence to interfere with your view of the horizon or if you have a pool in the yard. A glass fence doesn't offer a toehold for anyone to climb the fence and get into your pool, and it also cuts off strong breezes that cool your pool's water and leave debris on its surface. If you've thought about having a glass fence installed on your property, note some questions you might first have about this material so you know if it's the right choice for your home's fencing needs.

Does glass fencing need to be so tall?

Glass fencing around commercial pools, tennis courts, and other such areas is usually quite tall, typically as a means of added security. This height makes the fence more difficult to climb, so it keeps out potential thieves, vandals, and intruders.

However, glass fencing usually comes in a variety of heights and sizes, and a glass fence installer may be able to customize the height and width of the panels you want for your home's yard. Your choices would depend on any local codes in your area that dictate the required size of fencing for your property, but as long as your chosen fence is within those codes, you can typically find premade glass panels, or have them cut and fabricated, to any size you desire.

Does glass fencing trap heat in the space?

Any solid panel fence will typically trap heat if you have a tall fence along a small yard and a heating source in the yard, such as a grill or outdoor fire pit. If you are worried about trapped heat in your yard, have the panels installed so that there is a gap between them. These gaps will allow for more air circulation so that heat escapes and your yard doesn't seem stuffy and uncomfortable.

Will glass fencing create a glare?

If you want a glass fence around a pool or tennis court, you might be worried about a glare from the sun bouncing off that glass. This isn't usually a risk for residential glass fences, as the glass itself is made with a type of toughened glass or glass and plastic mixture, that makes the fence very strong and durable. This can also reduce any potential glare that would be created by the fence, so you shouldn't worry about being bothered by the fence when you're enjoying your pool or outdoor space.
